PELI CASE Projects

Aerospace – Peli Case Portable Electrical Test System
Lighting Strikes, EMC and stray currents are a serious threat to an aeroplane’s structural integrity. The electrical bonding on an aircraft protects the plane and passengers by reducing the effects from these risks.
Ensuring the bonding circuits are fully functional is critical to their reliability, and subsequently, the normal and safe operation of the aircraft control and communication systems. Our client has revolutionised testing equipment within this environment with a computer controlled, portable systems that are designed for use on the manufacturing shop floor, providing automated and intelligent electrical bond testing.

Aerospace – Portable Tightness Monitor
Since 2000 (Atmos) has been supplying tightness monitoring systems for jet fuel pipelines and airport hydrant systems across the world. BVM initially engaged with them to update the current PC and HMI technology with its Atmos Portable Tightness Monitor (APTM) product for leak detection around airport fuel hydrants
Hydrant leaks can have serious consequences such as fuel contamination, damage to people, property, the environment and lost revenue. A sensitive leak detection system is needed to rigorously test hydrants in accordance with best engineering practices – and in the shortest time possible, to minimize disruption of flight operations in both commercial and military airports

Surveillance – Forensic Data Capture Peli Case PC
The customer originally approached BVM to design a briefcase-style system that could be used by police and military customers to interrogate mobile phones and data cards for evidence collection purposes.
Working closely with the customer, BVM was tasked with developing a portable system to compliment the original desktop units, in response to ever changing market needs. The new unit has multiple card readers and connectivity to all common mobile phones and has the ability to store data for archive purposes. BVM ’s technical expertise complimented our customer’s proficiency in the software and marketing of the finished product.

Portable Spectrum Analyser for Radio “bug” detection
A spectrum analyser solution developed to satisfy the increasing market demand, for a reliable system that has the capability to detect threat signals (bugging devices) in today’s crowded spectrum.
In essence it was a custom made, integrated, touch screen Panel PC, with software programmable radio receivers. This portable Panel PC was designed to function as a radio frequency spectrum analyser, for detecting and identifying unwanted RF signals, displaying the results on the integrated touch screen.

Transportable Control Centre
An international company, a specialist in providing AUV (autonomous under water vehicles) had an urgent requirement for a transportable control centre to be designed for a new application. The application was for the remote control of vehicles being used for harbour and coastal surveillance. The client had its own engineering resource & ability but these had been committed to other mainstream product developments involved within their product portfolio of AUV solutions.
BVM were commissioned to design, manufacture and certify the control centre solution for enabling operation with a marine environment. After consultation with the client, an industrial PC design with means of an HMI in a Peli case was decided upon to provide both portability and a robust/rugged platform.
